About The Hotels


    The hotels range from small family-run auberges and pensions to fairly luxurious 3-star properties. They have been carefully selected and all must pass our 'good value for money' test. Standards are constantly monitored to ensure their continued suitability.

  • DESCRIPTIONS
    Our policy is to be honest and present the facts as accurately as possible. We try to avoid the use of over enthusiastic descriptions and fanciful phrases - we like our clients to be well informed in order to avoid disappointment.
  • CHOICE
    We believe in offering the widest possible choice. Therefore, you will find in our selection a good mixture of out of town and town centre 'typical' hotels (ranging from the small and simple to smart 3-star establishments) and modern motels and hotels.
  • CAR PARKING
    Most hotels we use have ample private parking. If the hotel description (under Facilities Include) says Garage it means that the hotel has either a garage or locked parking which is usually charged for. If the hotel description says Parking it means it has free private parking, not normally locked.
  • RESTAURANTS
    The majority of the hotels we use have restaurants but, with very few exceptions (see individual hotel details), you are not obliged to have your evening meal there, as is sometimes the practice. However, you should aim to be at the hotels by 8.00 p.m. or earlier, if you wish to eat in the hotel restaurant. Otherwise you may have difficulty in obtaining a meal, particularly if you arrive after 8.30 p.m.
  • ARRIVAL & DEPARTURE TIMES
    You can check in at most hotels as from 2.00 p.m. You are normally expected to leave by 11.00 a.m. If you leave before 7.30 a.m you may not be able to obtain breakfast (although most hotels at the Channel ports are organized to serve very early breakfast).
  • ACCESS FOR LATE ARRIVALS
    Unless there is a 'Night Porter' service, if you are unavoidable delayed you must telephone the hotel before 10.00 p.m to inform them of your late arrival and obtain your room number and instructions. (You do not have to telephone the hotel if you told us of your estimated time of arrival at the time of booking.) The system for dealing with late arrivals varies from hotel to hotel. Sometimes the main door of the hotel is left unlocked and the key left in the lock of the bedroom door. However, you must let them know you are definitely coming or they may not answer the bell. Some hotels have an electronic system. To operate this and obtain your entry code you need to know the 'Reservation Code'. (Hotels cannot normally give the 'Reservation Code' until the actual day of arrival). We regret we are unable to claim refunds from hotels for unused accommodation.
